We arrived in Venice at 9:30 am on July 6, and navigtated our way through the maze of streets to our hotel. It’s hot and we have air conditioning!!!! We ditched our bags at the hotel (a small family run place, where the bathroom is almost as big as the bedroom), and ventured out to tackle the city.

The streets of Venice
What a beautiful place. As a lover of water, I think this is my favourite city so far. Full of canals, narrow streets (aka alleyways) great food, and great shopping if you like murano glass and soccer shirts!

We have some soccer fans

After some exploration, we ventured out to find a place to eat and rest our feet. We found a great little bistro where we could sit outside and enjoy the free rock band. The homemade gnocci was to die for! Did I tell you that we really like Italian food?
